Hi! I'm Karina, I recently graduated from Computer Engineering at Queen's University in Canada, and am now a Software Engineer in Toronto. I've been building AI-powered products for startups and in enterprise for over 2 years. I'm passionate about AI's potential to advance our world forward, and am excited to be part of this change.

Enterprise Experience
Ernst & Young

Building out a computer vision product for AI-powered video analytics across the manufacturing, construction, transportation, and defence industries. Owning frontend and backend dev, I have conducted model evals for multi-modal LLMs and vLLMs and implemented the highest performing models, engineered a two-level video ingestion pipeline to cut token costs by 60%, refactored the UI for strong client demos, and setup CI/CD pipelines and Azure infrastructure (Kubernetes, Container Apps, VMs) for automated IaaS.
Startup Experience
OpenJustice

Was a founding software engineer for a legal AI platform, building a multi-LLM system to simulate how a lawyer reasons through a legal case. Using React, Next.js, TypeScript and JavaScript, I engineered the MVP in one month and used Selenium to scrape hundreds of legal documents to create a structured RAG database that enhanced the product's response accuracy. I implemented reinforcement learning with scoring heuristics to refine model responses, aligning them to lawyer tone and language by an additional 80%.
